Lifestyle: A little look around London
Sorry
for the delayed post, I know I promised a blog over the weekend, but a sore throat these last couple of days has given me mind block and stopped me from writing. I wanted to blog on a
couple of things I got up too last week (great places to visit and things to do
in London), as well reviewing my Friday attire.
DAY 1
I was lucky enough to have my lovely friend Taru visit from Finland for a few days. After taking a very enjoyable but chilly trip to Finland in December, she decided to fly over to visit Rosie and I for a little pre 25th birthday get together. So, over the weeks between Christmas I racked my brains on things we could do. And of course the first stop was the shops. I don’t think you’ve truly visited London until you’ve been to Oxford Street and rinsed your bank account of almost every penny you own. However, as this wasn’t Taru’s first trip to London, we decided to spend only a couple of hours shopping and then grabbed a quick bite to eat at Vapianos (quick service and good Italian food), before heading to Covent Garden for a wander and some cocktails. I will show you all very soon the beautiful pink feather and velvet shorts I purchased from Berska - limited edition and in the sale. Watch this space for an outfit review shortly.
I have to say that Covent Garden is probably my
favourite place in London. It’s just so quaint and likeable. Tastefully vibrant
but not painfully busy. The market is to die for and the Christmas lights look
magical. Not to mention great food and drink options! We decided to have some
cocktails at Adventure Bar. Getting there early enough we made it in time for the
241 and a sunk a couple of glasses before heading home.
DAY 2
Friday
also brought yet another London outing. We headed to Spitalfields market for a
look around and then onto Junk Yard Golf – I have been waiting to play this for
ages. The golf course is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and you feel
like you’re playing golf in a club, with the dimmed lighting and loud music.
Since we went in the day, it was very quiet and we were in and out under the
hour. It consists of around 4 or 5 different mini courses, all of which follow
a certain theme. We opted for the circus theme, but would be interesting to see
how good the other courses are, and what the atmosphere is like at night. Luckily we went in the day and practically had the whole place to ourselves, but if you did choose to go in the evening, particularly on a Friday or Saturday, I would suggest pre booking, as it does get very busy very quickly! Anyway, after
a quick bite for lunch it was time for me to go home for the weekend and Taru
to visit Cambridge.
Now
since this is an outfit review as well, I have copied some pictures below of
what I wore day two and where I purchased these pieces from. Some may have already
appeared on my blog, so apologies. But it is a good fashion refresh.
Once again I am wearing the rips and the fishnets. I still love this get together and think it works so well as part of a casual day-time or night-time look. Normally I dress quite 'girly' so to speak, but on the odd occasion, I ditch the prettiness and go for something a little more 'rough around the edges.' I am in love with my oversized wardrobe and still obsess over trainers and caps. If you want to see outfit dets and location dets, then the links are below.
Places we visited:
What I wore:
Ripped Jeans: Missguied (they don't seem to have the same pair I am wearing online, but I have linked to similar styles - I paid around £40)
Coat: Primark (£15 - mens so it's oversized)
Cap: New York Yankee Store (I have linked similar here - you can also buy these from places like Foot Locker, Foot Asylum and JD Sports)
Trainers: Nike Air Max 1 (can buy similar styles at Foot Locker - retailing around £100 for womens, but if you're like me and can fit into Junior sizes, you can purchase for half the price)
Thanks for reading,
